Seminar Details

Packaging is NOT the bad guy! Packaging has a vital role to play in the supply chain from manufacturer to consumer and beyond. Design the packaging at the point of NPD and include sustainability as part of the design process.

Case study: True Blue Stilton for Milk Link Cheese Company - Designing a fully recyclable pack for the launch of True Blue Stilton. Packaging reduction.

Case study: ASDA Mini-bites - Project carried out, reducing packaging weight allied to higher recycled content leading to sales uplift of all products in the range.

Local Authority recycling schemes. Working with LGA's to increase kerbside collections which leads to greater availability of recycled products for the packaging industry. Closed loop schemes. Major retailers should close loop their existing back of store recycling schemes on a nationwide basis. Contributing to Courtauld2 commitment reducing carbon footprint, i.e. keep recyclate in the UK to allow UK producers better access to recycled product. The pay off is at worst cost neutral and could even be a profit driver including cheaper packaging.
